I just got back from an amazing trip to Minneapolis Minesota, and I had so much fun. I attended a leadership conference where I went to different workshops with different topics, and covered different subjects. It was amazing! There were kids there from all over the United States that I got to meet. I met some kids from Virginia and even New Mexico. Once when I was at this particular workshop this lady asked if there was anyone in our group from Texas. And ofcourse I raised my hand and told her that I was. She got sooo excited, and I didnt know why at first. Then she says can you say something for us. And I was still clueless as of what she was trying to hint at. And then she said cause I love the Texan accent. I thought that was halarious. All I did was introduced my self to the group and she went crazy. It was so funny. I was with some girls who were from Texas to and they were laughing. But it was a good time, and an time that I will never forget!!

Business Letters

Business Letters?? Well there is really not much to say about them except that they can get a little frustrating after a while. Once you get the hang of them their okay I guess. I know that one day Ill probably have to type a lot of them so I better get use to it huh?? lol yea.

Do you know what it feels like to be played?!? Mannn I know one thing it doesn't feel good. Alot of times you go through life thinking that you have all these friends and people that have your back, but in reality your by your self. Im going through a situation right now thats teaching me that lesson. Once the realization comes to you, I believe is the hardest part. Now I see why your suppose to be happy when someone dies, and cry when a baby is born. When someone dies there at peace, but when a baby is born they have a WHOLE LOT to learn, and a WHOLE LOT to experience, positve but also negative. As a kid you don't realize what's ahead of you. Im about to be 16 next month so Im in a transition from being a teenager to an adult and life is hitting hard. And the bad thing about it is that its not even the begining. One reason why I named this blog One Step, is because life can hit you all kinds of ways, but all you can do is take it one step at a time, and think through your decisons. (AAAAAHHHHH!!)

Wow its been a while since Ive blogged. Well things have actually gotten better. My lights finally got cut back on. I was actually fortunate compared to alot of other kids at my school. Once I got back to school, in each of my classes my teachers asked who all didnt have lights. And I would say that 90% of kids didnt have lights. That was crazy! Alot of them didnt have any hot water to so it was really hard for them. During the week "back to school" our pricipals and teachers were very helpful. If we needed to wash clothes they would and they were even helping us get supplies, food and other essentials. I thought that was great!

America cant control everything.

A hurricane just came through Houston, Tx where I stay and before this time I had never been in a hurricane. Things were really scary. I was talking with my mom about it, and we both agreed that it would have been better if the hurricane came in the day time. But it was in the middle of the night. I could barely sleep. Once the lights went off at 4:00 in the morning things just went down hill. We had no power for a couple of dayz. My familly and I had to evaucate to a relatives house because the conditions with no power were starting to become un barelable. I wish the experience on no one. It was a tripp cause I always thought that America was in control . And when I experienced this it was mind blowing. I was so used to the government doin everything and then president and just all that but then when the catasrophe hit us there was nuthing that we could do. We were all helpless.

A lil taste of my world...

Well first off I LOVE FOOD!! I love all kinds of food, from Chinese food, to Italian food, to junk food! My favorite junk food is french fries (mmmmmm) with some salt and pepper on it. I don't even need ketchup especially if the fries are coming from Mc Donalds. (lol) I eat all the time, and the funny thing about it, I never gain weight. lol! I love slow r & b, rap, punk rock, some country, and I even like a little bit of jazz. I don't watch to much t.v because I'm so busy with school stuff, but when I do get a chance to watch t.v. I like to reality shows, and show like Forensic Files, American Justice and Law & Order, that come on Tru TV, and TNT. I watch lifetime too, and also the music channels like B.E.T, MTV, ect. My favorite subject in school would be English, because I love to analyze and look deep into what the author is saying. Out of all my classes, English I think I do the best in. My average grade for that class would be like an A-. Another passion of mine is BASKETBALL! I love the game of playing basketball. The adrenalin rush when my team and I are about to play a game is amazing! And its just so much fun. My strengths include being able to communicate my point across really well, I'm a good listener, encouraging others and gettting them to see the brighter side, and I also think that I'm a good friend. Some of my weaknesses would be that I can be lazy about doing things. Like sometimes I just don't feel like doing anything, and I just want to sleep and eat (lol) and watch T.V. When it comes time for a test I have to study. Especially if its a subject that I have trouble in, such as math. That class gives me a hard time. I am a visual learner and I learn by example. So the day in class that we talk about the test and go over questions I make sure that the teacher goes over problems that I don't understand, and I then I go home and I do more practice problems. I study different subjects differently. Now the thing that I would love to learn most from this class is knowing how to work different application software. Once we get our teams I think our work should be divided up among us equally. And the person should choose which part of it is easy for them to do. Such as if you know how to draw then you should be the person that draws. And last but not least Why would I make a great team member? Well I think that I can really keep the mood up and help to create a more fun learning enviornment, but also when it comes to doing work and making good grades, I take it seriously,

My name is Desiree Robinson aka (also known as) Dezzy by family members. I choose the color PURPLE. I would love a black Inviniti going to the beach in Florida because I am very outgoing, and I love to have fun. And just like the beach I am open minded. The characteristics of the beach when some days its full of big waves, like me I can be full of energy. But the beach water can also be calm with small waves, and like me I can be calm and full of thought.

My 1st blog!

Well I just created my blog. It was kind of cool. I liked the part of making the blog name and also picking the template. Ive never created or had a blog so this is pretty cool. I wonder what my teacher is going to have my class blog about tomorrow?...hmmmm
